I have been working outside quite a bit this week too as we have been organizing tables etc for our annual party which is on Saturday and it is turning out to be much bigger than it started out as.
It must be a custom or something here in Italy that if you have a dinner or a party the people never arrive at the time one tells them, they are always late or they bring all their relatives or friends, sometimes or very often without consulting you, and me, being very English, I find this very difficult to accept and Im not brave enough to say NO you cannot bring your granny, grandad and their friends and children too. so after being very busy most of the week cooking and freezing for 50 people, the number has now doubled and Im having a few panic attacks of whether there will be enough food and I really cannot stay cooking any more. I must add though I know lots of people will be bringing food so I am sure it will turn out good on the night.

Yesterday I picked another 10 kilos of plum tomatoes and 3 kilos of tiny salad ones despite having no rain they have done and are still doing really well. Also the courgettes and cucumbers are still producing too. Cooked 100 samosas and 3 curries .

We have been to the airport today to collect one of my old University friends that's going to stay for a week, it will be good to catch up with all the old stories etc and that she will be here for our party and her birthday. Tomorrow my two daughters are arriving from Ladispoli with all the children so we are going to be full to the brim by Saturday. We have people camping in the field at the weekend so they can have a drink or two at the party, so I dont think I will be doing any painting or blogging.

So have a good weekend Yawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwn

  2. I love reading your blog and so many to catch up on I don't often get here. So thank you for your comment as it encouraged me.I think I'd like to come to your party..it sounds like you'll have a lot of fun with all those guests. I'm just reading a book called 'The Enchanted April' about 4 ladies who go to Italy for a month, its very old fashioned but it makes me realise what beauty and fertility there is there. All your fruit and vegetables and flowers sound wonderful. I don't think I could cope with the heat though.
